Another Picture of the World

Palermo, mid-12th century. At the request of the King of Sicily, the Arab geographer Al Idrisi is writing one of the greatest treatises on geography of the Middle Ages: The Geography of the West. To complete this grand design, the entire court is mobilised. Thus, Paul de Balz, a Frankish troubadour, and Aylan, a Berber calligrapher, embark on an expedition which, from Mont Saint-Michel to Béjaïa, leads them to observe the artistic works of their time, as well as the traditions of the medieval world on the shores of the Mediterranean.
