The narrator, Alice, is faced with a promise made two years earlier. We see her upset and unnerved, her voice cracks, doubt sets in and her life is turned upside down. In the hope of an answer, she seeks refuge at La Pomme d'Ève. Answers lie in secrets that are revealed as Alice lifts the veil on her past. The eponymous hotel will keep its promises in this final volume in the trilogy on desire that started with La Pomme d'Ève.
