This essay looks at the history of a viaduct in Genoa, deemed to be a masterpiece at the time of its inauguration, the collapse of which, on 14 August 2018, incited international outrage. It is interested in the shape of the bridge, a real challenge to the designer, yet staggeringly normal to the user.
This book was awarded the Prix de l’Académie d’Architecture in 2020.
