Hope

This series of night portraits set in Los Angeles was completed over a one-year period. I met with the people who haunt the city at night and inserted them into my photographs. None of these portraits have been stolen, they are all lit and staged like scenes from a film.
The characters and places are both real, but reality has been altered. Most of the images are the fruit of a brief meeting and reflection. After speaking to my characters, I decide on the lighting and location. Each image tells a story and each story is part of a larger story…     Erick Ifergan
