From new town to sustainable city

Marne-la-Vallee holds a revealing and remarkable position, which questions the procedure of the creation of towns in France since World War II. On the occasion of the fortieth anniversary since the founding of this new town, fifteen authors, historians, planners, architects and engineers, address all aspects of this major development, from the earliest stages of its creation up to the latest projects being undertaken.
