Bourdieu, a scientist and a politician

Bourdieu would certainly have disturbed this contemporaries somewhat less, had he been satisfied with assuming the role usually assigned to people like him : that of a scientist. This is precisely what he never wanted to do, and strangely enough, he was reproached. He was one of the most prestigious intellectuals of his time and at the same time, in close contact with the most ordinary people.
