In 1979, after the accidental death of three Worker Autonomy Group activists, a massive police dragnet descended on its members. From the means of concrete action to the limits of armed fighting and the role of intellectuals in militancy, this homage stands up for the right to remember differently and the need to keep up the fight for a more equitable world.
Born in Italy in 1956, Allessandro Stella was a member of the Potere Operaio (Workers’ Power) and later the Autonomia Operaia (Workers’ Autonomy) movement. Finding refuge in France in the early 1980s, he is now the Historical Anthropology Research Director at CNRS and teaches at the Paris School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS).
