The wolves' share

This is a novel that follows into the steps of a man whose class-awareness was sparkled while having an affair with a factory owner’s daughter. It narrates the lives of poor farmers “who belonged to the Party way before it even existed”. In Spain, from the 1920’s and just before the 1950’s, in between social and civil wars, Jaume and his family dream of a better world and confront the powers that be : the landowners, the Church and the State. They win, they lose, they flee and end up fighting on another front, in the French maquis (Resistance forces) against the Nazi occupying forces ;  eventually they come back, and end up losers, once again…
