The Lovers

Two star-crossed lovers, separated by the hazards of history, at the turn of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries: George Bass, a young surgeon sent by the British Royal Navy in New South Wales (an authentic character, who was one of the first explorers of Australia) and his mistress, the mysterious Miss X, a French aristocrat fleeing the Revolution. Throughout the months and miles that separate them, they exchange passionate letters in an attempt to meet up. But writing only succeeds in bridging the wide chasm which the world has opened up between them ?
