I Hate Mornings

From Lannemezan prison where he is serving a life sentence and has already spent 4,750 mornings, Jann-Marc Rouillan describes his past as a Direct Action militant, his friends, and what he misses most which is women, in his daily life as a convict. Between the visitors’ room and arbitrary transfers, in this world steeped in violence, always on the fringe of madness, loyalty to his political beliefs becomes for him a matter of survival, facing as he is another form of death penalty which is the slow dehumanization imposed by incarceration.
