This book is the account of a months-long road trip taken by three young architects to the Eastern United States to discover American vernacular architecture. Illustrated with numerous sketches and photographs, it defines "common sense" architecture respectful of people and their environment. We discover an "intuitive, inventive" rural structure which might inspire sustainable architecture of the future.
