West Coast Jazz

The term “Jazz West Coast” has always posed a problem. Initially rejected, more or less fiercely, the label was finally accepted. Refusing to set the limitations, in time and space, of some jazz, this work retraces the history of some of the bands and musicians who made the music of the fifties in California. Music which, over the course of a decade, lent itself to daring innovation.
