Comments on the violence of art, violence in art

The impulsive dimension to creation, nature of the subject represented, strength, power of the style and desire to dominate are all factors that come into play in the perception of violence in art. For the artist, art itself, or at least the practice of art, can also be synonymous with violence when it is necessary both to "let yourself go and allow the means of expression to flow and at the same time master a technique, a style". The violence of art lies in the position of the artist, who seeks both to give an absurd or fantasy sense of the world and to celebrate life free from shackles and conformism.
