The Pipeline's Forgotten Ones is a photographic study realised in 2006 of the displaced peoples resulting from the conflicts of the Caucasus and Anatolia in the 90s, along the BTC oil pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan), the second longest oil pipeline in the worlld, through Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, from the shores of the Caspian Sea to the Mediterranean.
The pipeline is not visible. It is underground, for safety reasons. On the surface, within a bankrupt Russian scenario, the position of the 600 000 displaced persons from the Haut Karabagh in Azerbaijan, the 250 000 from Abkhazie in Georgia, and the hundreds of thousands of Turkish Kurds worsens from day to day. 15 years after the end of the conflicts, families await their fate in abandoned hotels, refugee camps, and in destroyed villages.
