The Itineraries of Vivant Denon, illustrator

The Chalon-sur-Saône’s Denon museum has published several history of art manuals concerning its collection of drawings and illustrations. The little known personal drawings of Dominique Vivant Denon, famous for his work on Egypt during Napoleon’s military campaign, are presented here in several chapters : Denon the Hungarian, Denon the portrait artist, the libertine, travel memories, fantasy subjects, the artist’s ambitions and drawings that were once attributed to Denon.
