The Narrative Void

Mac Adams is considered to be one of the founders of Narrative Art, who introduced the idea of fiction into photography. His work allows for various interpretations and speaks of that difficult to define space situated somewhere between a representation of reality and what really exists : a « narrative void » which permits anyone to play a role in the construction of a story. The work of Mac Adams also questions, often in a recreational way, the power of images and the manner in which they are created. The book comprises text by Mac Adams explaining his approach, an analysis from the art historian Alexandre Quoi and a study by François Cheval on the narrative void.
