The Metaphorphosis of the Haystackers

Bernard Langenstein loves hay bales. He finds them beautiful. What attracts him about these bales and how they are stacked in fields, is their mysterious, monumental, aesthetic side. Made by man and machine, they exist in a natural universe, as incongruous objects in a meadow. Through the eyes of an artist, they become ephemeral constructions, placed by people who have no idea that these commonplace things become, when you look at them, true works of art.
