Intimacy

Pierre-Jean Amar tackled the female nude in 1980, after having created a metaphorical image of a woman’s body in a natural setting. He then furthered his research by creating multiple series. Deep shadows battling with rays of light, abstract nudes, and nudes captured while performing a sensual dance. These photographs, all in black and white, echo the themes that can be found in other subjects examined by the artist: portraits, still lifes, landscapes, and intimate scenes.
