Double Roses

Louise Honée uses her photographs to try to understand the links forged between a territory and its inhabitants. She seeks to show the feelings young people feel and to trace how the environment shapes their personalities. Her series transposes this questioning into the lush natural landscapes of a small patch of the Hautes-Alpes, where light and shadow sweep across wide open spaces and delimit preserved areas. In her refined, elegant black-and-white photographic style, Louise Honée transcribes the roads she traveled to meet these people and gently record moments of ordinary life.
