White Silk for Parachutes

In late 1939, still in the unoccupied zone, Ardèche is beginning to feel the pinch of wartime restrictions. Lucien has to leave for the front while Juliette is left shouldering the responsibilities. Meanwhile, in Lyon, their aunt Elsa takes up a job as a seamstress, making dresses from parachute silk. Resistance is being organized, while the Jews suffer repression. As the aggressor's forces advance, the fate of the silk mills depends on the uncertain influx of both raw material and orders.
