Beautiful Homes on the Riviera

Large residences are inseparable from the history of the Riviera. Lord Henry Brougham discovered Cannes in 1835 and built the first real aristocratic villa. Subsequently, between Théoule and Menton, sumptuous houses were constructed, the style and affluence of which leave one flabbergasted. It is the story of these homes and their owners, very rich and sometimes unpredictable characters, that Didier Gayraud brings to life here through spicy anecdotes and plentiful illustrations of a period in time, in large part unpublished.
