In the wake of a powerful storm that swept through Paris, a number of individuals appeared on the scene. They were quickly dubbed "the newcomers" by 24-hour news outlets, and speculation was rife. Elon Musk proposed to experiment on these guinea pigs; Paul B. Preciado celebrated the end of assigned identities; and Michel Houellebecq saw confirmation of his fears of great replacement.
