Sète#15 Bieke Depoorter

ImagesSingulières is a festival of documentary photography launched in 2009 and held in Sète, France. Every year, a famous photographer is invited to cast their eye over the town. In 2015, the young Belgian photographer with the Magnum agency, Bieke Depoorter, true to her approach, is offering night views of the city, suffused with a cinematographic dreaminess. Her visual poetry conveys the muffled heartbeat of a sleeping city, a graceful testament of the world’s complexity.
