Proletarian culture

These pages were written between 1918 and 1923, and published in 1935. They were dedicated to the memory of Fernand Pelloutier, “a servant of the working-class”, and they fit into the tradition of the self-emancipation by the proletariat from the French revolutionary trade unionism. Published again in 1976 by François Maspero, it has been out of print for a long time now. This book is “entirely dedicated to the issues raised by the necessary character of working class culture.”
