Pik-Nik

In the east of India, during the warmer winter months, families, friends and colleagues, loaded with baskets of food and utensils, and their enormous sonos, travel to the river banks to engage in the art of picnicking. At sunset they return home, leaving the leftovers from their feast behind them... Pik-nik is a beautiful collection of photographs capturing the essence of this society’s picnic phenomenon. The photographs were taken by Arko Datto with text by Kushanava Choudhury, who were both born in Calcutta.
