An interim-worker's diary

In these pages, Daniel Martinez wrote down the daily life of a temporary worker in the Bordeaux area. This Diary (“Carnets” in French), are witness to a life spent with the looming threat of precariousness, and presents stories set in the backdrop of the yards, pregnant with the angry thoughts brought about by the feeling of stepping into a trap about to snap shut.
“When I accepted that mission, Bis, my temp agency, had said it involved nothing more that cleaning up a yard. To start with, there was no mention of carrying glass partitions. But, you know, temps will bear anything, won’t they?”.
