A so slow absence

On the Trans-Siberian Express from Moscow to Beijing, writer Éric Faye and photographer Xavier Voirol explore the multiple temporalities – external time and internal time – that a journey on this legendary train provokes. At a constant 70 kph, the landscape changes imperceptibly. The traveller, absorbed by inaction and solitude, also traverses a range of internal states that come to confront hm. That journey is perhaps the most surprising.
